A new study suggests that a number of malls are ideal for senior living.
The study looked at all the most popular malls in the U.S., focusing on the number of seniors, whether the mall is in a major city or suburbs and whether the malls offer a large variety of homes and amenities.
The study was conducted by Zillow, which also surveyed residents to see how well they felt about their neighborhoods.
“Retirees who live in major cities may have access to better amenities in their communities than those who live farther away, so we wanted to know which areas were the most likely to be good for seniors,” said Amy Kiehl, an associate professor of marketing and marketing communications at the University of Michigan, in a press release.
The research found that while most major cities have a high percentage of seniors and that they are generally healthier, many suburban malls have a lower number of residents with disabilities.
The number of people with disabilities in suburbs and cities is higher than the national average, but it’s not enough to determine if a mall is good for residents.
The study focused on the most populous metropolitan areas of the United States.
It found that a majority of malls had fewer than 10,000 seniors, while only a third of malls reported having more than 15,000 residents.
The numbers were higher in some suburban malls, including New York, Chicago and Denver, while a large majority of major cities had fewer residents.
The malls were also more likely to have one or two senior housing units.
There are about 2.6 million homes in malls, and nearly half of them have two or more residents, according to the study.
